Tension load cell plays very important roles in many fields of people's daily life. Everyone must pay attention to ensure that the tension load cell can work normally during use. This article will focus on the common malfunctions and detection methods of tension load cells.

1.Tension Sensor Common malfunctions

Malfunction 1: Printing chromatography is inaccurate

Malfunction phenomenons: During the normal operation of the printing equipment, the pendulum roller irregularly swing, and the swing amplitude is large, which causes the chromatography to be inaccurate.


Malfunction 2: The tension is unstable

Malfunction phenomenons: In the winding process, when the winding diameter is large, the winding tension display value tends to decrease as the winding diameter increases. At this time, the output electric current of the driver will continuously increase. When the output electric current exceeds the rated electric current of the motor. This will cause the drive to over-current protection and send out a fault alarm.



Malfunction 3: The winding starting tension is too large

Malfunction phenomenons: If the winding tension system exceeds the full tension value of the winding tension controller at the start, the equipment needs to run for about 2 minutes to achieve constant tension operation, which not only wastes a lot of raw materials, but also easily causes the zero displacement of the tension load cell, causing a deviation in the tension control value.


In the actual production process, there will be some troubles that are difficult to handle. This requires the technician to carefully observe the malfunction phenomenon. According to the structure and working principle of the tension control system, analyze and find out the cause, solve and eliminate malfunctions according to the correct method to ensure stable operation of the tension control system.



2.The Methods of Detecting the Tension Sensor

The detection methods commonly used tension load cell are voltage method, resistance method, short circuit method, open circuit method and current method.


1) Voltage method

The method measuring the voltage value at a certain point in the line by the instrument to determine the range of the electrical malfunction point of the machine or the component malfunction is called voltage method or voltage measurement method.


2) Resistance method

The method using the instrument to measure the on/off of a point or a component in the line to determine malfunction point is called the resistance method.


3) Short circuit method

Short-circuit a certain circuit or component which is suspected of malfunction temporarily, and observe whether there is a change in the malfunction state to determine the fault location. This is called short circuit method. 


4) Open circuit method

In the inspection of machine tools circuit, sometimes because of special detection need, the circuit must be disconnected. This method is called open circuit method.

5) Current method

The method determining the malfunction point by measuring whether the current through a line is normal is called the current method.
